Solar power is a renewable resource—we are not in danger of depleting its reserves. Solar power is non-polluting, nor does the acquisition of it harm ecosystems through spills or dredging. Solar does not emit any greenhouse gases and will minimize your carbon footprint. Learn more >
Photovoltaic solar products use sunlight to generate electricity. Because you are still tied into the electric grid, you will still get electricity at night and during cloudy days the way you currently do. When the sun does shine, though, it offsets your electricity costs. Learn more >
Solar thermal is the collection, storage, and use of heat from sunshine to generate hot water. It is one of the most efficient means of using solar energy. Thank you for visiting us.

For the participants who attended the 15th Annual National Solar Tour on October 2, thank you for taking the time to visit our open house in Bergen County.

It was gratifying to see the great interest in solar energy. We enjoyed answering your many questions. Many of you were quite surprised to find out how maintenance-free the systems are, and with the great tax incentives, the savings enjoyed are tremendous.

Many of our participants commented that they would rather come for an informal tour to get acquainted with some of the particulars rather than having a salesperson come to their home. With this suggestion in mind, Bergen County Solar will now offer demonstration tours of both thermal (hot water) and photovoltaic (electricity) on a regular basis at the tour location in Bergen County. Individuals and small groups interested in seeing solar in action should send a request through our contact page or call us at 201-767-0800. We will be glad to make the arrangements for this specialized tour.
